About
The Middlebury School in Argentina offers students the opportunity to study in one of Latin America's most dynamic and culturally rich capitals while developing advanced Spanish language proficiency through full immersion. Students enroll directly in courses alongside Argentine peers at one of Middlebury's distinguished partner institutions, Pontificia Universidad Católica Argentina, the Universidad de Buenos Aires, or the Universidad Torcuato di Tella, choosing from a wide range of academic disciplines taught entirely in Spanish. By engaging with local classmates and the broader community, participants gain valuable insight into Argentina's history, politics, culture, and contemporary society.
Argentina, the largest Spanish-speaking country in the world, is celebrated for its remarkable geographic diversity, vibrant cultural traditions, and influential role in South America. Its capital, Buenos Aires, is often considered one of the continent's most cosmopolitan cities, blending European architectural influences with a distinctly Argentine identity. Students experience daily life in a city renowned for its historic neighborhoods, including La Boca, Recoleta, and San Telmo, its expansive parks and plazas, thriving arts scene, and rich literary, culinary, and musical traditions. From world-class museums and theaters to neighborhood cafés and tango performances, Buenos Aires provides an exceptional environment for language acquisition, academic exploration, and meaningful cultural engagement.
