A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • The Erasmus students I made friends with who were easily accessible at SciencesPoBdx
  • My host family
  • Speaking in French
* What could be improved?
  • Don't tell students to be French!!! It's very socially isolating!! Erasmus students speak French and often need friends, while French students can be more closed off and don't always need friends. Be honest about this!!!!
  • Cultural preparation for the lack of smiling and kindness
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Erasmus students are people you should spend time with from day 1 because often they take the language seriously and because they are looking for friends. This enriched my experience far more than my often base level relationships with French students.
