About

The International Business Management in Western Europe program offers students the opportunity to meet in person with managers from multi-national companies and with international governmental, political, and regulatory organizations. The program is unique because it offers daily site visits, allowing for personal interaction with managers and decision makers in a variety of international settings.  Instruction is offered in a working, learning, and problem-solving context, as opposed to a classroom lecture format.  Students will have the opportunity to meet with European executives; Americans who have professional careers abroad; and with representatives of public agencies important in the management and performance of European businesses.

The program provides a comparative study of European business management and the impact social, political and regulatory institutions have on organizations. Students will gain an understanding of the similarities and differences in management practices in the U.S.A. and the European Union. Some emphasis will be placed on supply chain management, although the program will examine other industries and institutions important to each country visited.

The program will take students to Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Luxemburg, Brussels, Antwerp, Paris, and Trier.  Students will be exposed to five western European countries and cultures in order to form a lasting understanding of how business is conducted outside of the United States.
