I gained much insight into my personal identity as an American, as ironic as that may be. I learned about the impacts of the globalized economy, spearheaded by American politics. I also learned much in the way of patience. Not everything moves as quickly as the American mentality wishes it would. About

Be Bold and come to Loyola's Vietnam Center in Ho Chi Minh City, where you can explore all of the beauty and excitement of Southeast Asia.  You will experience firsthand an emerging region full of life and adventure, and you'll soon realize that this is not your average study abroad program.  Our program is a unique opportunity for students to engage in and learn about the social, cultural, political and economic dynamics currently shaping contemporary Vietnam.  All courses are taught in English by Vietnamese faculty and there is no language requirement.

Our Vietnam Center is spread out over various points across Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) which enables students to interact and engage with their surroundings on a daily basis.   Students can further immerse themselves in HCMC and enrich their academics by participating in an optional service learning, business internship, or environmental research placement.

The city is a hub from which you can see many places in this exciting region through planned academic excursions and your own personal travel.

A highlight of our program are our Partner students.  These are Vietnamese college students living in the same residence hall as you that you will be paired with for the duration of a semester.  These students speak English well and are your inside guide to your new home.  They will show you the best spot for a bowl of pho, join you on an outing to the markets or karaoke, and maybe even take you home to meet their family!

If you are looking for an immersive adventure with the familiarity of an American university, look no further than studying abroad with The Vietnam Center.  To apply or learn more, please visit our website and check out our Instagram page to see what our students have experienced while abroad with us.
