Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The classes/professors were incredible and I can't believe I looked forward to waking up early, taking the shuttle bus and going to class everyday! |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
The buddies and staff were always super nice, friendly and helpful towards the students which, honestly, made me feel right at home. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
I stayed in CJ International House and I really enjoyed it. The staff was really nice and helpful. It had a kitchen, laundry room and gym which was really nice. The dormitories were fun because it's an easy way to make new friends! The only thing I didn't like was that CJ is located on top of a hill so you had to walk up a few hills to get there and let me tell you it was a struggle in that summer heat. |
* Food: |
The food was absolutely amazing! For the people who can't take spicy food, don't worry korean food is not THAT spicy and there's plenty of non-spicy options. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
I met some amazing people from all around the world and made so many friends that I still talk to today. I learned so much about Korean culture (food, academics, night life, language, shopping, and so much more!) My favorite part was going to 노래방 (karaoke) with friends! |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
I always felt incredibly safe whether I was friends or alone! I would go out alone, even at night and still felt completely safe. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
KUISC was such a rewarding and beautiful experience. It has everything could ask for in a study abroad program. |
Finances

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
It was fairly easy, but you can definitely get carried away with shopping and wanting to try all the cafes around Seoul. Other than that, food itself and transportation are really cheap. |
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | $90 |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Convenience store food will save your life and your money! |

How would you rate your language skills at the end of the program? | Beginner |
What was the highest level language course you had completed prior to departure? | None |

Do you have any tips/advice on the best ways to practice the language for future study abroad participants? | 1. Try to speak as much as you can with locals 2. Watch movies/ variety shows 3. There are language cafes in Seoul you can go to and practice with others |
