KIIS: Paris - Munich Winter Program

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I have learned that a trip is as good as your company. The true character of a person is revealed when you face adversity. When you get over the hurdle of a tough time your vision becomes a bit clearer. Even when it's tough and you feel blue, you learn that you can get though the hard time. This trip has taught me that i'm am a resilient person. Once i encounter a tough spot, i evaluate the situation and change my behavior in order to feel happier and to have a better time. Most importantly, I can do anything once I am determined.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Due to circumstances, I wasn't able to go aboard for a month or a semester, but i am so happy and appreciative for the chance i did receive. Even thought the trip was really short, I experienced so many new things and I had so much fun. I am happy was able to go aboard.

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? I spent around 100 Euros a week on food.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? I suggest saving as much of your as you can for spending money. Funding for short study aboard trips is a bit tough, but loans and funding from your college can cover the cost of the trip.

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • Experiencing different ways to travel.
  • Visiting tourist sites.
  • Trying new food.
* What could be improved?
  • I wish the cuisine class was a bit more structured at times.
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I wish I knew that we would be hiking at some point. Also, I wish i would have paid for phone service while I was abroad. I wish I knew how light to pack as well. Overall, I wish there were more information about the structure of the class and our group excursion.

The wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal.
