KIIS: Paris - Experience Paris (Summer)

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Absolutely! I brag about the places I have been and the classes I take all the time.

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 0-2 weeks

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

I loved everything about the academics of the classes. What I did not like was not having access to cheap printing services. I like to have things in hard copy.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The weakness was the interference with the internet that was necessary to complete many of my course assignments. Other than that I cannot say enough good things about the program.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

* Food:

Be aware that if you have dietary restrictions, it may be hard to accommodate those issues in French restaurants.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I loved every trip. Especially the trip to Normandy, and the Loire Valley castles and even the trip to Auveres and Giverney.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Travel in groups just like you do at home, and the pharmacies are very helpful if you need some medical help.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • The overall experience.
* What could be improved?
  • Communication about transportation if flight times are changed. Students need someone to call if these issues occur.
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Watch your budget and don't make the mistake of not doing something and regret not going!

Comments: The course was challenging and educational. I still use much of the information I learned in this class today. I come across as knowledgeable and educated to others many times because of this course.
Credit Transfer Issues: No real issues, I just wish that the title of the course was available so other universities could see what the classes I took were.
