Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The language classes were excellent, as well as the art classes. But the anthropology class was the worst college course I have ever taken. I didn't learn a thing and the professor was very biased and unorganized in his lectures.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

They were very knowledgeable and I don't think the Kansai Gaidai side of things could be improved. They were wonderful.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

met lots of cool people

* Food:

japan's meat is really bad quality but everything else is delicious

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

i still had a lot of fun seeing sights and meeting lots of new people - going to clubs and such

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

didn't have any health problems and japan is super safe and pretty much nothing crime like happens except the occasional stolen bike

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? SO MUCH. I didn't keep track though so you're on your own. but i went WAY over my budget because japan's hella expensive
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? just bring extra money for everything. make a budget, then add five hundred dollars or something

How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? Intermediate
What was the highest level language course you had completed prior to departure? 300
If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?
