International Business Seminars: Winter Southeast Asia

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
My favorite part was learning about each culture from everyday and business point of views.

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 0-2 weeks

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

This experience was very education and truly opened my eyes to a new business culture. CSUF students had to finish their paper and an extra project 7 days after we returned home, which was tough but all of it was worth it!

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Great hotel choices! I dislike a lot of hotels, but the hotels we stayed in in Vietnam and Thailand were clean and safe.

* Food:

All the food was amazing and cheap! Plus a lot of delicious free dinners.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

I did not have any experience, but it was nice knowing I was insured.

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

IBS is very organized. Everything was planned well and Jia made all the students feel welcomed and comfortable.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

I spent WAY less money than I thought and I did whatever I wanted.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? $100 - 150 each week
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? I think it really depends on the student's financial position. Try to save what you can per pay check or monthly.

The Networker
An active student leader, it was important for you to network abroad as well. Once overseas, you sought out student clubs, volunteered with local organizations, or attended community events. You encouraged your friends join you, and often considered how you could reflect your international experiences in a resume.
