Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The program allowed you to take multiple free trips with them, along with the chance to experience a home-stay with a local family. I strongly suggest taking advantage of that opportunity, it's one like no other!

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I loved living in a mix with Irish student as well as American and other foreign students. It was a great way to meet people!

* Food:

Food was all on your own, but worked out well.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Trips to Northern Ireland in particular were incredible!! take advantage!!!!

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? Hmmm.. a budget is hard. Just know what it is that you would like to do while abroad. Honestly, I went through almost 7,000 in four months which sounds ridiculous. However, I planned for it because I knew how much I wanted to travel and what I wanted to get out of my experience. There are many things you could do to cut that price in half, maybe even more. Just map out what you would like to do, and do research about cheap flights/ hostels/ groceries in advance!
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? While traveling abroad keep in mind that missing planes/ busses and trains can become VERY expensive. My friends and I missed our flight back from London due to mass transit issues and had to pay another 120 pounds, which is about $170!!!

A Look Back

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Go, and be yourself. If you go with friends, that's great, I did too, but do not let them restrict you! Do anything and everything that you want to, you will not be judged! It is a great opportunity to learn about yourself and find real passions in life. Just don't hold back!
