What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I gained new insight, new perspective, new appreciation, and I learned about the Chinese culture and how business works in China, among many other things. It was definitely worthwhile.

I was able to live in a homestay.

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Being in a homestay helped me feel very integrated with the local culture, but outside of that - like on campus with other students - there was not much integration. We felt a bit secluded.
