What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned how to work across cultures! I worked with Italians, Indians, Americans, and Swedes! I learned how to communicate and better explain things and to adjust to new environments with people from totally different cultures!

I couldnt have had a better experience!

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

Traveling makes it hard to save but traveling plus eating in like just about every night (learned how to cook the local cuisine) made savin easy!

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? 40-120
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Eat in and learn to cook local! also there are cheap ways to travel!

I was encouraged to learn the language in language class and to really work hard to use it outside of the classroom!

A Look Back

  • an extra day between work/class and departure
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I wish I had packed a little lighter... I thought I did but didn't realize that I still could have because shopping in Rome is less expensive than home! Also, Rome is HOT in the summer so you don't need like that much in terms of cold temperature clothing!

The Networker
