Overall Experience
I learned a lot about French culture and how different things are abroad. There was a lot of history, and things to do. Definitely worthwhile. - Stephen F. Austin State University View Entire Review
There's learning to behad in every life's situation, so the study abroad experience was definitely worthwhile. I had some obstacles to overcome throughout my time there, but all the good things outweighed any bad moments. - Portland State University View Entire Review
Absolutely. I am so grateful that I was able to have this experience. I definitely grew and learned more about myself. About

Individual programs available to non-UO students include:

  • International Business and Marketing in Angers: The International Business and Marketing in Angers program offers an excellent opportunity to gain an international business perspective while meeting fellow students from around the world. You'll choose from a broad variety of business courses—all of which are taught at the École Supérieure des Sciences Commerciales d’Angers, or ESSCA, in Angers, France. ESSCA is accredited by the AACSB International, the hallmark of excellence in business education.

  • French Immersion in Angers: This program is designed for you to immerse yourself in French language (regardless of French language ability) while also learning more about French culture, politics and society. This program contains courses covering many disciplines, with coursework in history, sociology, political science, French culture and civilization. You will study at the international language institute (CIDEF) of the Université Catholique de l'Ouest, taking courses with US and other international students. In the summer, a visiting US faculty member also teaches a course offered only for GEO participants, incorporating specially designed excursions in the surrounding region. You will live with a French family for a fully immersive experience. Students studying in the summer sessions have the option of living in a university residence hall.  Angers is a lively university community of more than 30,000 students, making it a lively city with a prominent youth culture. Angers is also a city of deep history, with a castle and churches dating back to the twelfth  and thirteenth centuries.
