Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Each class consisted of a midterm, a final, and a paper. I would have liked more grades in the courses.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Surprisingly they could not answer a lot of academic questions, but were always available and helpful.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

The apartment was fully furnished and included dishes, sheets, and all necessities. It's location was very convenient also.

* Food:

It's Italy, you cannot go wrong.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I did not get to attend many of the cultural events because spots were limited and typically filled very quickly.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Florence is very safe. Police walk around all of the piazzas however I would not walk alone at say 3 AM nor would in any other city though. There was one incidence where our front door was locked and no one could get us out of the apartment for hours. God forbid there was a fire I do not know how we would have gotten out. Healthcare was very easy. I needed two antibiotics this semester and I received both easily from an english speaking doctor.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Book all of your trips within the first two weeks that you arrive for the cheapest prices. -Beware of courses with LAB FEES they can be hundreds of euro.
