Duke Study in China (DSIC) is one of the longest-running credit-granting programs in China administered by an American university. The program offers an intensive summer language program in Beijing, based at the prestigious University of International Business and Economics in Beijing (UIBE). UIBE is located in the Chaoyang District of Beijing, which is convenient to downtown, and has a modern, well-designed, picturesque campus.
Program highlights include: 



  • Teacher-Student ratio of 1:4

  • Language Pledge

  • Language Practicum (task-based learning activities)

  • Weekend excursions

  • Mid-term program-sponsored trip

  • Service in learning course for level 5 students

Participants must have at least one year of college-level Mandarin Chinese, or the equivalent, and be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at the time of their participation.
