What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Yes. I learned so much about myself and the world.

Personal Information

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

My semester in Spain was immensely easier than any semester I have ever had.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The program is wonderful for students who don't know Spanish very well and are not going abroad specifically to learn Spanish. The level of Spanish of the various students was too varied to have very deep immersion.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Our apartment was in a great location. It was a little small and the kids were very loud, but the family was very nice and helpful. We had to buy very little and fit in with the family.

* Food:

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Feria de Abril, Semana Santa, field trips, day trips

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Very safe and easy to get health care.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? I traveled most weekends. You will spend a LOT of money. Also, try to forget about the Euro to Dollar conversion or you will never buy anything. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity: spend what you have.

Language

How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? None
If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?
