What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Understand Chinese culture much more now. I am definitely more interested in pursuing Chinese language studies for a longer period of time.

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The workload was fine, the grading system was fair, and there was a great deal of similarity between the teaching methods and those at the UW.

Excellent people. Very helpful and willing to go out of their way to make students' experiences great.

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I lived with my host family and it was truly fantastic. They went out of their way to provide me every comfort and include me in their family.

Excellent food.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

We went to the Great Wall, Temple of Heaven, Beijing Opera, Summer Palace and had many other group excursions.

We could practice speaking Chinese with everyone and had to use it on a daily basis. Within students, most people ended up speaking English.
