What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?

Personal Information

The term and year this program took place: Spring 2008

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Learned a lot, challenging, got to know my professors well

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Tried hard to make everything accessible or fix any problems that came up

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Very moden compared to local students, comfortable living

Safe, on-campus living, lived with other students in the program, everyone in surrounding buildings were other foreign students

* Food:

Hard to accomodate dietary restrictions, make sure food is safe- sometimes might not be sanitary, really encourage eating in cafeterias to get authentic food with local students (and cheap prices)

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Safety standards are the same as any big city

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? There are ATMs and bank accounts available but it might be easier to just hold cash.

Language

How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? Advanced
Language acquisition improvement?

Learned higher-level language, improved colloquial speech
