What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I have become FAR more independent as well as responsible. I now know that I could take on so many challenges in life, by myself, because I just lived in a foreign country, with a language I didn't know and was able to do it for four months...and made it a memory that is engraved in my mind.

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 0-2 weeks

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The overall educational experience went far beyond just the classroom atmosphere. Not only did we learn in the classroom's but I also learned so much outside, from field trips and the local artists and architecture. I also learned so much from traveling all throughout Europe and seeing the world from a whole new lens and perspective, as it was only my second time in a foreign country.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Strengths: very nice staff, great teachers, understood the right work load we needed Weaknesses: very few!

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

These are all things I could write so much about. I loved my roommate. I just got placed with a Spanish girl and we got along great!

* Food:

I made a lot of my own food and loved it!

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

We ate a lot of Spanish food together, traveled to the Dali museum and also went to Sevilla as a program which was a blast!

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Spain is a very safe place; however, they are defiantly known for their pick-pocketing. You just must keep an eye on all of your belongings all the time otherwise they will be taken away. It is also very important to travel with someone at night, just like anywhere else in the world, because there defiantly are people you can't trust!

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Don't be cheap, but defiantly be conscious of your money! It's a once in a lifetime experience so have a semester to remember!

Language

If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?
