Brigham Young University: Traveling - Church History Study Abroad

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
It was absolutely worthwhile! I learned so much about early Church History and gained such a stronger testimony in so many areas. I feel more confident with the knowledge that I will need as a missionary, as well as study habits, public speaking, and teaching.

Review Your Program

The first two weeks of this program are on BYU campus and include a rigorous course load, and three hour classes daily. It's doable, but make sure you keep up with the reading and homework. It's amazing how much you learn!

On-site administration of your program

Great professors who definitely knew their history! Amazing detail and thought put into lessons and planning.

Most of the time living arrangements were great, however, there were a few nights that we had to stay in hotels that were less than pleasant (dirty and/or smoking rooms).

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? approximately $50
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Try to buy food for lunches that can last you a few days, so you can have more money for souvenirs!
