Boston University: Madrid - Spanish and European Studies Program

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I strengthed my spanish speaking skills. I formed a beautiful bond with my host family and internship supervisor, and I learned to spend time with myself and love myself. Being abroad and facing many uncomfortable challenges forced me to grow in unique ways. I'm very thankful for my experience and would do it again.

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I wish I listened to the advice "get to know people or wait a few weeks before booking so many trips in advance with people in the program". Things happen, relationships change, just a good precaution as it can lead to discomfort if conflicts arise.

The Nearly Native or Trail Blazer
Craving the most authentic experience possible, perhaps you lived with a host family or really got in good with the locals. You may have felt confined by your program requirements and group excursions. Instead, you'd have preferred to plan your own trips, even skipping class to conduct your own 'field work.'
