Boston University: Dublin - Internship Program

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I gained a better grasp of the world as well as great experiential experience through the internship.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

I think it was a wonderful educational experience. Just going to Ireland and understanding the differences in how people live as well as the internship side of the program are well worth the study abroad in this program.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

It was fine. It wasn't as great as my actual university, but it was nice, it was helpful-ish.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

They were good living arrangements. There was a kitchen and the wifi was decent after the first week or so.

* Food:

There just weren't enough places around to feed people at times past 6 o'clock and there wasn't a sufficient amount of help in locating places to eat from nearby.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

It could be better. It would have been nicer to take classes with the Irish students.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

It was decent. It was accessible.

* Safety:

It was an extremely safe campus and an very safe city, if anything.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Groceries and transit are expensive over there.
