What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Yes. I became proficient in Japanese, made new friends, and had a great time. I hope to go back to teach English after I graduate.

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The Japanese classes were great. I just wished my other classes were in Japanese.

On-site administration of your program

Weakness was that the classes were in English. Strength was that they made it easy with bank accounts and any kind of visa and making travel plans. Administration was very helpful.It was good that we had host families.

Best food of my life.

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I loved the friends I made and the activities I did with them and at the club events. The trips arranged by the program when we got to stay at traditional Japanese hotels were also a ton of fun!

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

I felt comfortable walking home a half hour at 3 in the morning because there were people everywhere and Kyoto is so safe!

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes
