Arcadia: London - London Internship Program

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned a lot about the difference in culture even though there was no significant language barrier. It was really eye opening to immerse myself into the culture through my internship and studies.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

London is a very expensive city. This combined with the exchange rate made for an expensive semester.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? I spent about 50 or 60 pounds a week on food. Traveling and other activities accounted for much of my other spending.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Make sure you have a debit card that has free withdrawals in the country you are going to be studying in. Bank of America for example is part of the global ATM alliance and has no fees at Barclays banks that can be found all over London. The fees can really add up. Just do som research a few months before you go.
