Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The workload was bearable. Enough to keep you busy when you had nothing else to do, but definitely didn't take away from any experiences you could have had.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

If you needed to know something about anything, you could easily access it through talking to anyone on staff.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

* Food:

The food in Italy is absolutely amazing. Prepare to pack on the pounds if you plan on going!

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Way too many to recount, but Umbra Institute does organize field trips with certain classes which are really insightful and absolutely worthwhile.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Being such a small city, Perugia was relatively safe as far as any Italian city goes. You get to know most of the locals and they get to know you during your stay so not much to worry about there. I recommend bringing medicine such as advil or sudafed because it is relatively expensive at the local pharmacies.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?
