What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
If I could go back to Australia I would in a heartbeat. Going abroad definitely makes you more aware of other cultures and makes you picture the world differently. It was a great humbling experience for me and Im so thankful I was able to meet all the people I meet, all the experiences I had, and all the memories I will hold forever.

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 2 weeks - 1 month

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The grading system was very different and not as much instruction by professors than at PC.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

They were very supportive and always around to assist with anything. They knew a lot about what we would be and were experiencing and were always there to meet on a personal level and help you.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Arcadia provided us with bedding and other necessities. The neighborhood was very safe and was close to a supermarket and pharmacy. I love the town I lived in at CLV.

* Food:

We made our own food in our apartments.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Arcadia arranged a few events and I also planned many vacation trips and camping trips with my friends. We were able to become closer with each other and further understand different parts of their culture.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Australia i found was a very safe country. The only time I felt threatened a few nights going out, but as long as you surround your self with good friends youll feel safe. The healthcare there was easily accessible and Arcadia provided us with information on how to seek aid if we needed it.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? You should be prepared to spend a lot more than you think you will. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience everything you can when youre young so youll want to spend youre money traveling, shopping, and going out with friends.
