What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned so much about Design. I learned how to work with and relate to people who didn't have English as a first language. I learned how to plan trips to foreign countries on my own.

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 0-2 weeks

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Such an amazing school. It took me a while to get the hang of it. I was very intimidated at first. But I would do another year there if I could.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

could not have been in a more perfect location, but as im sure it is unavoidable, it was tiny. There was mold, and no where to do my work at night expect hunched over my laptop on the couch. There were no desks, and my roommate and I shared a bed pretty much, our twin beds were pushed up against each other because there was no room.

* Food:

London is such an international city, they have everything to eat. At food markets I tired food from all over the world.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Because it is such an international city, it is very rare to meet someone, especially at Uni that is actually from London. Everyone is an outsider.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

You have to be smart. I never brought my I phone with me out at night. I used a small cross body bad as a purse. I never had a problem. Other people were not as safe and had many things stolen from them.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? $100
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Try to cook most of your meals at home with your roommates. I saved so much money by going out to eat under 10 times in my entire 3 months. Don't go shopping for new clothes all the time.

  • Central Saint Martins
* What could be improved?
  • less spoiled brats in the program

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Before I left, I wanted to do everything. Travel everywhere, Go to every museum, make lots of friends, play a sport. But It is impossible to do everything. Go with the flow and as long as you live in the moment, you won't miss anything. There are no mistakes.
