"I was able to have some incredible experiences on my study abroad program, despite not liking the program that I was in. I met lifelong friends and I traveled to some beautiful places that I will always remember. I would absolutely recommend going on a study abroad program to other students. "

"Study abroad was amazing, as was living in India for so long. I have become a stronger, more independent person because of my experiences. I would absolutely do it again, though maybe with a different program in India. I am so glad I did this, though at times it was more challenging than I ever could have imagined. I was more ho..."

"I learned how to be much more self-sufficient, and I learned more about British culture, and the international culture and lifestyle of London. "

"I am so glad I studied abroad, I just wish I had done an independent program at a local university. I feel like I have better learned how I am as a person in isolation, and how to take care of myself better. "

Samantha G Wellesley College
"I enjoyed being in an entirely new academic and social environment, and I think it was this novelty that challenged me more than anything else about my time at St Andrews. "
A student Wellesley College
"I was able to choose multiple courses that closely relate to my academic path (history of art and Chinese language and culture) at this university that focuses on Oriental studies."
A student Wellesley College
"I achieved my goals of being on this program: taking design classes that are not offered at my home institution and living in a Scandinavian country and exploring other European cities. In that aspect, I'd say the four months were successful. However, if I could choose again, I'd choose a full immersion program rather than DIS, ..."

"Yes, I was able to climb out of my comfort zone and gain more life skills (such as cooking and travelling on my own)."
Joanna W Wellesley College
"I made many friends and was able to see Europe, which I had never really done before. However, I feel like I would have benefitted more academically if I had stayed in the States."
A student Wellesley College
"I learned about my own strengths and weaknesses and gained independence. I also learned about city living which was quite valuable."
Catherine w Wellesley College
"I gained exposure to a different academic and social environment, developed a greater interest in my field of study, and left with greater appreciation for my home institution."
A student Wellesley College
"Though I live in Korea, it was fascinating to meet college students. It was a chance to observe their perspective on society, life, and culture. They were understanding and accepting, and I felt welcomed. "
Lorraine S Wellesley College
"Living with the local family is an eye-opening experience. Keep an open mind, or else it won't be a study abroad experience you've dreamt of."
So Jin Ki Wellesley College
"It was worthwhile, the program is amazing - the staff & structure were not."
Noelle Bergere Wellesley College
"My french improved"
Shadae B Wellesley College
"My Spanish speaking skills improved"
Cassandra Cronin Wellesley College
"It was definitely worthwhile since it was something different. I learned a lot about the world and other people while going abroad, though it wasn't the lifechanging experience it is for some people. I think I would have tried to be more cognizant of my spending habits and also travel more (a paradox, I know)."
A student Wellesley College
"For me, although I had complaints, it was worthwhile. I had never been abroad before, and I needed to get away from Wellesley for a bit. "
A student Wellesley College
"I learned language skills and how to live and travel in a foreign country."
A student Wellesley College
"A new understanding of independence."
A student Wellesley College
"I don't think it was particularly worthwhile for me. In the classroom I do not feel like I learned that much, if anything it was that I do not like IR and prefer rooting my work in my home-place. However, I sometimes learned strategies from the places we went to that I will hopefully use at home. "
A student Wellesley College
"I learned scientific field research skills and a greater understanding of global environmental programs. I think the skills I learned at SFS will help me in all of my feature academic endeavors "
Whitney7 Wellesley College
"I was challenged academically to the point where I now better understand what interests me and what doesn't. I also learned to live in a large city, which brings many positive and negative learning experiences with it!"
A student Wellesley College
"It was worthwhile in the sense that I became much more independent and traveled everywhere. I enjoyed my time in London and think that it was a great personal, rather than academic experience. "
