"I learned that despite the technological and economic differences between the U.S. and Nicaragua, both peoples strive for personal happiness in the same ways and for the same reasons, and that a more developed and technologic society doesn't necessarily correlate to more "happiness"."

"Being abroad has given a whole new perspective on life, and everything that I have here at home. I think that sometimes we take for granted all that we have here. That being said, I think that there is a LOT that we can learn from other countries. It was nice to be in towns that were so simple and laid back, and the people weren..."

"It was totally worthwhile. I can say I gained a lot of independence and responsibility while being on the trip. You are so far away from home in countries that you have never been to and you have to be mindful of that. You cant just call up your mom or dad and ask for help when you need it! I also had to make sure I had enough m..."
Whitney B University of Northern Iowa

"I had never left the country before this experience, and it exposed me to history and culture that you just cannot find in the U.S. I saw places that I had read about in history books and got to experience European life in a fun and interesting way. I loved every single day and it was worth every penny! "

"YES, very much so, I would do it again if i could. My future plans have been reinforced, I was unsure whether or not I wanted to continue to travel all over the world, but since I have spent these few months abroad, all of my ideas have surfaced, and I hope to elaborate upon them in years to come. "
David P University of Northern Iowa

"I learned what it was like to be immersed into an unfamiliar culture for an extended period of time. It's a very different feeling than being at home as most people can imagine, but it is very refreshing at the same time. You begin to appreciate things that you normally take for granted. You also learn to live without all of ..."
