About

In 1915, author A. A. Milne wrote Winnie the Pooh based on his son's love for a small bear cub named Winnepeg, from Manitoba, that he oftentimes visited at the zoo. As a YFU student in Canada, you too might find your own best friends in Canada's Hundred Acre Wood (more like 2.250 Billion Acre Wood)!

As a YFU student to Canada, you'll live with a volunteer Canadian host family and attend a local high school. Students will be placed in English-speaking host families and schools unless they are applying to a French immersion program.
