Azerbaijan is full of fascinating culture and folklore, including the popular belief of "Do not lend money or bread at night." As a YFU student in Azerbaijan, you'll explore all of these tales!

As a YFU student in Azerbaijan, you’ll live with a volunteer host family and attend a local high school. Part of your experience will be:

Students will attend a “Gymnasium” or “Lyceum”, which is a college-preparatory school. The academic expectations placed on students in Azerbaijan are relatively high, so be prepared to study hard! Exchange students are placed according to their age, which could be 9th through 11th grade, and is decided by the school. School is in session from September to June, with a long summer holiday.
