WSU Faculty-led Switzerland: International Business in Switzerland

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Flexibility, working with diverse groups, cultural appreciation, too much to list!

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? None

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Loved having international professors - every single professor I had was from a different country! Also enjoyed working in group projects with international students.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Very nice dorms with private bathrooms. Close to school and everything else within short walking distance. Also a student bar downstairs!

* Food:

Typical dorm food - not bad, but not great either.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

Never had an issue with healthcare but dorms are right next to a hospital.

* Safety:

Felt 100% safe walking around at night in this town. No concerns here.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Switzerland is a great location - you can ride the train just about anywhere and take an inexpensive flight for places farther away. Travelling on the weekends was very easy, and many major destinations were relatively close. Switzerland itself is clean, safe and extremely beautiful. Highly recommend this program!

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Switzerland is VERY expensive. However, food on the weekdays is covered. Just don't expect cheap prices for groceries, eating out, etc.

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? No

The Avid Adventurer
The wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal.
