About
Greece is a country of unique beauty and history. Ancient Greek builders have left remnants of their architecture and design scattered throughout the region that attest to their skill, artistry, and ingenuity. On this 14-day tour, that will include ancient sites in Greece, and 2 famous islands in the Aegean Sea, students will learn about, observe and reflect on historic Western art and architecture that has influenced the fields of architecture and interior design.
This program will include visiting the mainland and select islands with significant ancient and modern sites of study. Proper research of the historic architectural sites as well as current events in Greece will be required prior to departure. Daily photo/sketching journals will be required of each student upon completion of the course. Observation of Greek culture, architecture, design, language, and science will be explored as well as how Greek culture has influenced and impacted modern society and western civilization.
Upon return, a post trip class session will involve open dialogue of educational experiences and evaluation. One final project will be required of each student to submit and present. Final project will encompass the essence of course objectives through observation and application of design.
All inclusive: Research, factual media, and final study.
