About

Founded in 1852, the Université Laval is the oldest French language university in America and the center for Quebec's largely francophone culture. Due in part to active exchange programs with universities around the world, it has an international student population close to 2000 and a total student population close to 35,000.

WMU studenet program: After arrival, students participate in a five-day introductory course on Quebecois History and Culture, followed by a four or five-week French course. The course on Quebecois History and Culture is taught by WMU Professor Dr. Vincent Desroches, and the French course is taught by professors in the ecole des langues.

Students applying for this program may be eligible for the Haenicke Institute for Global Education Study Abroad Scholarship.
