What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned a lot about the local culture and mentality which was extremely eye-opening. Especially the Sicilian relation to food is drastically different from the United States.

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Everything in Sicily is cheaper compared to mainland Italy. The groceries in the open market are a great value buy. Spending really depends on how much you eat out at restaurants.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? Under $100 a week.

Do you have any tips/advice on the best ways to practice the language for future study abroad participants? Online tutorials or software like Rosetta Stone is helpful. Otherwise just try to be outgoing and you will learn a lot from the locals.
