Learning language is learning a culture Past Review

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Absolutely worthwhile. I learned a tremendous amount about living on my own, how to take care of myself, and how I react to new situations. The language immersion was wonderful, which I didn't think I'd enjoy before I left for France. The courses at the FAC were an experience, probably most useful for highlighting differences in French and US cognitive values.
