Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 1 month - 6 months

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The eduational experience provided by Voyager Europe was like no other. The professors teaching the courses were very qualified in their respective fields and made learning interesting, and also integrated what was learnt in classrooms with what was seen during the trips.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The host college was fantastic and everyone we encountered was helpful and friendly. Mike and the Voyager Europe team were fantastic and made sure that everything ran as smoothly as possible throughout the program.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

For the duration of the program we stayed in great hotels! Any issues we had were resolved quickly by the Voyager team and they did their best to ensure roommates were well matched and that roommate requests were honoured.

* Food:

Breakfast was included during the program and there was generally a variety of different things offered at each place we stayed. There's definitely something for everyone!

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

One of the members of the Voyager team was from Madrid, where our program was based. She encouraged us to integrate in the local culture and was always very helpful in suggesting local activities and explaining the cultural nuances to our group.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

A health insurance plan was included as part of the Voyager Europe package. I did not personally have any major health incident, but the Voyager team was well prepared with basic medical supplies and medicines in the case of minor accidents and illness.

* Safety:

For the duration of the program I had no safety incidents. There were many warnings about pick-pockets in many of the cities we went to, but if you're careful and mindful of your surroundings you should not have any trouble. We moved around as a group most of the time and so we looked out for one another.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? No

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • It was a small program so we definitely developed a connection between all the participants and the Voyager team.
* What could be improved?
  • There could be an orientation session at the beginning of the program which fully outlines the program schedule and what is expected from the participants.
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I didn't really encounter anything during the program that made me think "I wish I had known this before I came". The Voyager team did a pretty good job of preparing us for what to expect with the materials and emails they sent before we went to Europe.
