What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I gained an appreciation for the fortitude of the Haitian people. I also came away with a completely different perspective on charity work and the responsibilities of NGOs. I found this experience invaluable.

There was quite a variety of exposure and while the pace was intense, it was definitley worth it.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? I spent 200.00 on food and drink, but to be fair I did buy a $60 bottle of wine :)

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • The variety of programs and NGOs that we visited
  • The housing was amazing
  • The food provided was new and different (and delicious)
* What could be improved?
  • Perhaps better support for sick students
  • If time allowed, I would have enjoyed more free time
  • A few more vegetarian/vegan options would have been nice
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I would have brought more Deet and Gatorade powder!
