How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 1 month - 6 months

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

School was great! The classes focused on exploring Prague and learning about their culture rather than endless amounts of homework or lectures!

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Jan,Richard and Geiger are great programs advisors! They were helpful, kind and friendly!

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

The apartment was on Krizikova Street, only a ten minute walk to Old Town Square. The apartments were spacious and so much fun living in. USAC gives you the freedom to live on your own, which is great because I got to know my fellow USAC'ers so much than if we all lived apart! Loved K17! Also, we lived a bar, Pivovarsky Klub, which is one of the best places to eat in Prague!

* Food:

Czech beer...goulash...YUM!!! Food in Czech Republic is cheap. Our apartment was right by two grocery stores and it was fun to cook together!

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Prague=AMAZING! USAC provided plently of field trips and opprotunities outside the classroom to really get to see Central Europe, the Czech Republic and Prague! Also, we arranged a lot of dinners and social events. Also, the nightlife in Prague is great and affordable!

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Prague is a very safe city! I needed to go to the hospital one day and the USAC Prague Office really helped out. Jan told me exactly where to go. I was worried about using my health insurance abroad, but my parents called the USAC America office and they took care of everything! It was such a relief!

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
Language acquisition improvement?

We took a two week intensive language course the first two weeks!

If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?

A Look Back

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? If you like to have fun and want to live in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, pick Prague. USAC Prague provides the right balance between independence and help. I had studied abroad before USAC Prague at a place where academics were more important than actually living in a new place and experiencing culture. You will not feel weighed down with homework! If you pick Prague you will have the most amazing semester of you life!
