I was too self-conscious about speaking the language and it was a sensitive health issue, so I waited until returning to the US to get it taken care of.

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Have a very compassionate host family who feeds you regardless of program-assigned meal plans.

While I was with the American programs, it wasn't encouraged much. I found local friends, which integrated me more than the program did.

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? It is quite inefficient to learn a foreign language surrounded by people who all speak the same language.
