What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Absolutely, without a doubt! It changed my life, and helped me grow as a person. Best experience I've ever had. It challenged me, and strengthened me. It made me want to travel more and see what else the worl ahs to offer. Now that I know what I can achieve while abroad, without the help of those closest to me, I ahve mroe independence and confidence in myself. It was truely unforgettable.

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 0-2 weeks

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The grading system is different than UND but I figured that if you add about 15% to the grade you receive at USC, its about the equivalent. It is a more difficult grading system with more challenging requirements. I really had to work in my classes, but ended up satisfied.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

my expectations were met

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

The apartment complex was great with wonderful accessibility to staff and fun activities. I only gave it a lower rating due to the circumstances of living with my room mates and my approval of the environment with them.

* Food:

Besides the expense of the food in Australia, compared to the US, there was a good variety. Some was fairly bland though, and restaurants make you pay extra for all condiments and refills of beverages.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I met so many amazing people from the US and around the world. I also was fortunate enough to travel alot and i couldnt have asked for a better experience.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

I always felt safe, and knew where to go if I needed medical help or examinations. For some reason, though, any minor injuries didn't seem to heal well over there, even witht he help of medication.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?

Direct Enrollment/Exchange

* Did you study abroad through an exchange program or did you directly enroll in the foreign university? Direct Enrollment
