About

Held in the beautiful city of Lausanne, Switzerland (home to the International Olympic Committee), course instruction will encompass: (1) the psychological aspects of coaching and social interaction in sport; (2) performance challenges and mental training for peak performance; and (3) psychological considerations for stress and athletic injuries. Additionally, students will be presented with an examination of sport and sport psychology from an international perspective. Students will gain an understanding of: (1) the structure of sport in Western Europe in general and Switzerland in particular; and (2) differences in motivational constructs and the application of sport psychology between the US and Western Europe /Switzerland. Coursework will be complimented by a variety of hands-on activities, including visits to the IOC Museum, the Olympic Studies Centre, and local visits to organized sport practices/events. Additionally, an overnight excursion to a program related Olympic site will be planned.
