Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The standard was much lower than what I was used to. That being said, there was also even more support with the same lack of resources. Overall, I was satisfied!

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

UTS administration were very disorganised. From enrolling me in the wrong subjects, to getting my program and host partner University wrong, providing me with false information- I was disappointed!

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Excellent! I had a roommate issue early on and I was able to get my room immediately!

* Food:

Make sure you don't get the unlimited meal plan. The food on campus is fantastic they had a dining hall that was always open with unlimited food options and a food court all included in the original meal plan!

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Americans are very friendly people- they LOVE to meet Australians and made me feel like a celebrity. I made a lot of new friends very easily and quickly.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

The health insurance made things very accessible and affordable!

* Safety:

No issues here!

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Just make sure you don't get the unlimited meal plan and you will be fine!

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? $100-$200 (depending)
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? YES! Get a special "Travel Card" from your bank ASAP the sooner the better and start putting money away on that card immediately!
