Personal Information

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Some professors really did not care much, but there were some that were very committed and willing to listen and help, advise.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Some professors are absolutely amazing, some are shocking and barely speak the language of instruction of the course. Host family is not like a real host family, it is like a hostel.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

* Food:

ate with the hosts 5 dinners and all breakfasts, rest on my own

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

local music festivals and going out with local girls and boys

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

They gave us a list of doctors in case we would get sick, that's about it.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Everything is expensive and not necessarily better.

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? Beginner
What was the highest level language course you had completed prior to departure? French 201 and internships in French
Language acquisition improvement?

I improved my language but I was expecting much more. French course was way too easy.

If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?
