It was worthwhile, I learned that the world is just waiting to be traveled and I don't have to dive right into a career.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

I learned a lot, but it really wasn't much work for me. I didn't like the exam precedure.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Is there on-site administration here?

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Housing was fine, great location!

* Food:

I bought all my own food.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Culture was wonderful, but I learned far more about the other international students than the australians.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

Shitty health care system didn't work. Thankfully I didn't have any health care issues.

* Safety:

City was safe and comfortable.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Invaluable experience with some great people. I doubt I'll ever end up in Australia again.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

It is too expensive in australia.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? When I had the money, 250$.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Don't eat out too much.

  • Just kidding, I don't know, but I do prefer the American system.
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? At the moment, I'm not sure. Maybe just to manage money better.

The Avid Adventurer
The wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal.
