How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

The hostels were nice for the most part.

* Food:

Although the ketchup was amazing, the actual food wasn't all too special.

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I felt immersed with the locals.

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

My only issue was I got a cold, but easily got medicine for it.

We stayed together and avoided risky places.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

The food was expensive, plus figuring in gifts and entertainment easily put me near $200/week. I also figure I spent less on gifts than the average student.

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Don't eat out often, it's not that good and going to convenient stores is healthier and cheaper.

  • Group interaction immediately when gotten there to get to know everyone
  • More hands on/physical activities
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Bring books, there's a lot of empty time to fill in airports and buses.
