Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

workload was very easy, i took all Liberal Arts electives so my classes were all to study the Australian culture and background. the grading system was a little hard but if you work hard you should get great grades. i had one hard ass teacher but the rest were very easy going and nice

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

IES Abroad was very open and accessible. the office there in Melbourne was always open and there for us. Both Liz and Chay there were like friends to me, it was as if they were our buddies in the study abroad group, we all loved them. actually the last week i was in australia a group of friends and i went with Chay to go paint balling, which was very fun. overall they are a great couple and helped us out and made events and definitely made us all feel at home

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

neighborhood was pretty safe. there was a very sketchy "tin alley" which was very scary to walk through at night. other than that the dorms were a blast, classes were very close, maybe 5-10 minutes tops from St. Mary's. the only things that i needed to get when i was in the dorms was an "accy" which is like a robe which we all had to wear for dinner 3 nights a week

* Food:

food was alright, it got a little monotonous after a while...

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

everyday was an adventure. there are so many stories that i had i couldnt begin. whether it was exploring the city at night, going to the casino, clubbing, pub crawling, or turfing it up every monday night, it was all great. i would never regret doing anything that i did there and the amazing social experience that i got

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

city was very safe and the health office was about a 10 minute walk form where i lived

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)
