Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Overall the University of Glasgow was easier then La Crosse. we had 10 weeks of classes where I only had to write 3 papers and then finals (that were a month later). The grading system I felt was fair. The way teachers had similar styles to those back home, but the realized that you had a life out side of school which was nice!

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The support was really good. Any questions I had just emailed the faculty leader and she responded soon enough. It was confusing registering for classes but I eventually figured it out.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I lived in the Winton drive flats. They were very nice but about a mile from the campus, though they had a minibus that would take us to class. And when I did have to walk it was through a beautiful garden/park, which was lovely. I had to have my housing changed for financial reasons and ended up living with three Chinese girls. It was definitely different but worked out just fine.

* Food:

We had to buy and cook our own food. I needed to by my own dishes as well. There were plenty of awesome restaurants/coffee shop like: The wee little curry shop, Ketchup, and Mocha!

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

The school has a club for international students that planned various events for us to get involved in. And it was easy to join an actual campus club (rugby, art...things like that)

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Overall I felt save. I never walked home alone at night though. I had to go to the doctor once and it was very easy. I just called and got an appointment and met with the doctor the next day. It was all free which was nice, even the prescription!

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Direct Enrollment/Exchange
