What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
It was worth while. I learned so much from the culture and everything else. This experience will last me a lifetime

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 0-2 weeks

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Everything went well. The professors from both Ghana and America were both helpful and useful.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The prgram only lacked communication between professors. However, it was structured very well.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

We stayed in a hostel near the university which also houses international students from other countries

It was not as clean as expected. There was only a ceiling fan to keep cool and there was no hot water. Limited internet access

* Food:

IF you are not willing to try and be open to new food, you will not enjoy the food.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Amazing! Again, you must be open to new experiences

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

The capitol where we stayed, although considered dangerous, was not for us. We were able to move in and out of the city during the day and night without any problems.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? about $50-$75
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? If you are a picky eater and do not like the food provided by the program be prepared to spend more money on outside food. As far as other expenses, its up to you as to what you want to buy

Language

If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?
