Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 1 month - 6 months

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

You still receive a valuable college education without the regular intensity in order to make travel realizable

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Everyone takes the time to get to know you and values your experiences and will do anything to help you feel more at home.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Pretty average dorm-style living situations but there is a sink and medicine cabinet in the room. Genders separated by floor and share a communal bathroom with toilet and showers. Bedding is provided and washed for you.

* Food:

Food is edible but it is also free. Buffet style so you have options. I would recommend keeping some snacks in your room though as food is only served certain times of the day.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

The manor is kinda isolated in the countryside but free shuttles are provided into town, making it easy to access the local stores and train station.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

There is an on-site nurse. Typically, once a semester, a cold will make its way into the manor due to the amount of people and travel but nothing too serious. A few of my classmates had some serious health concerns and were provided assistance to the hospital and had someone care for them at all times.

* Safety:

There is always security on-site and the staff provides their phone numbers in case of emergency.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

The people made this semester absolutely unforgettable. I made friends all across the nation and still keep in touch. I was able to make life-long memories with new friends.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

I was definitely pretty flexible with my spending because I saved up but I do know some people who came on a very tight budget and were still able to travel a lot.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? 100-150
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? My #1 tip would be to budget as well as you can. I would typically use the ATM to take £100 in cash out to use for spending on my trips. You can use the travel agency located in town to convert it to whatever currency you need.
